Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre

This course is not available for registration now.

The Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School, founded in 1969, is recognized as one of the finest schools for dance education and ballet training in the country. Operating under the artistic auspice of PBT/PBTS Artistic Director Terence S. Orr, the school is held to the same high standard as the world class ballet company. Through the continued partnership between Boyd Community Center and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School, PBT instructors provide Pre-Ballet classes, levels A through D, for 3, 4, 5, and 6 year olds and Beginning Ballet for 7 year olds during the 2009-2010 season. Imagery, imagination, and self-expression are encouraged alongside the teaching of academic ballet technique. Classes take place in Boyd Community Center’s dance studio, which has a sprung floor and marley surface.

No pre-evaluation or placement class is required to register for these classes. You must be the required age of the class by September 17, 2009. Wear black cotton Lycra leotard and pink (not shiny) tights and leather ballet shoes to class.
